EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING The National Weather Service in Upton has issued an Excessive Heat Watch, which is in effect from Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening. * HEAT INDEX VALUES...Up to 105 due to temperatures in the lower 90s, and dewpoints in the mid 70s. * TIMING...12 pm Friday through 10 pm Saturday for Excessive Heat Watch. * IMPACTS...Extreme heat can cause illness and death among at- risk population who cannot stay cool. The heat and humidity may cause heat stress during outdoor exertion or extended exposure.

Suffolk County Police Seeking Missing Southampton Man in Need of Medical Attention

Suffolk County Police have issued a Silver Alert for a missing Southampton man who may be in need of medical attention.
 
Robert Clinton, 59, was last seen at SOCR house, located at 1272 Montauk Highway in Watermill on June 17 at approximately 3 p.m. Clinton is white, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 260 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a T-shirt and blue jeans.
 
Detectives are asking anyone with information on Clinton’s location to call the Southampton Town Police at 631-728-5000 or 911.
 
As a reminder, Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
