Man Arrested after Stalking and Exposing Himself to Teen in Park, SCPD Reports

SCPD arrested Juan Fuentes of Islip Terrace, 27, who exposed himself and stalked a 17-year-old female at a park on June 19.

Babylon, NY - June 23, 2017 - Suffolk County Police today arrested an Islip Terrace man who exposed himself and stalked a 17-year-old female at a park on June 19, 2017 at approximately 8:40 a.m.
 
First Precinct officers and officers from the Canine Section responded to Southards Pond Park on Park Avenue in Babylon on Monday, June 19, at approximately 8:40 a.m. A woman was walking on the north path of Southards Pond Park when a man approached from the opposite direction, jogged past her and stopped. The man then started jogging behind the woman. The woman turned around and observed the man was naked and holding his clothes. The victim ran away and the man ran after the woman a second time. The victim then ran out of the park and was able to escape.
 
An investigation by First Precinct Community Support Unit officers and Crime Section officers revealed that the man responsible for stalking the female victim is Juan Fuentes, 27, of Islip Terrace. Fuentes was arrested on Thursday, June 22 at approximately 1 p.m. at his workplace, Belmont Twins Deli, located in West Babylon. Crime Section officers charged him with Stalking 3rd Degree.
 
Fuentes will be held at the First Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned June 23.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
