Wyandanch, NY - June 22, 2015 - Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred in Wyandanch last night.

First Precinct police officers responded to a residence at 24 Hemlock St. after a 911 caller reported a shooting at 8:51 p.m.  When officers arrived, they discovered Taquan Caldwell with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Caldwell, 23, who lives at the home, was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

An investigation by First Squad detectives revealed that the victim had a dispute with two individuals at the residence prior to the shooting. The suspects fled before police arrived.
