Riverhead, NY - June 22, 2018 - Suffolk County Legislators Bill Lindsay and Tom Muratore honored Selden Paramedic Steven Badolato and Sixth Precinct Officers Sean Fleming, Bryan Mastrangelo, and Eric Dorfman with proclamations on Tuesday June 19, 2018 during the Suffolk County Legislature’s General Session. The honorees responded to a call in the early morning of Friday, June 15th regarding a woman in active labor at her residence in Farmingville. Mother Suzanne Baumann, 31, of Farmingville welcomed a baby boy, Ronan, on her bathroom floor with the help of the Mr. Badolato and the Officers.

“Labor and delivery is difficult enough especially with the umbilical cord wrapped around the baby’s neck three times,” said Legislator Bill Lindsay. “This would have been a difficult delivery even at a medical facility, let alone at home. Thank you to the quick responding EMS workers that helped bring this baby boy into the world, healthy and safe.”

“I am proud to recognize these men who answered the call and helped bring a new life into the world,” stated Legislator Tom Muratore. “Our everyday heroes often go unnoticed, so it is a pleasure to say thank you for a job well done.”
