Update: Arrest Made in Melville Hit-and-Run Crash

Update - June 25, 2014 - Suffolk County Police arrested a Floral Park man last night for a hit-and-run crash that killed an 85-year-old pedestrian, Robert Hosking, in Melville on June 20. Following an investigation by Vehicular Crime Unit detectives, Harvinder Hothi was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Incident Without Reporting Involving a Fatality. Hothi, 45, of 87-26 Little Neck Parkway is being held at the Second Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.
 
Update - June 22, 2014 - Robert Hosking, the pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on Route 110 in Melville, died this morning from injuries sustained in the crash. The investigation is continuing.

Melville, NY - June 21st, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Vehicular Crime Unit detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that critically injured a pedestrian in Melville last evening.
 
Robert Hosking, 85, was struck by a vehicle that was traveling southbound on Route 110 whose driver fled the scene at 8:50 p.m. The vehicle was described as green in color with damage to the passenger side front end, side view mirror and windshield.
 
Hosking, of Melville, was transported via Melville Rescue to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow where he is being treated for internal injuries and multiple fractures.
 
Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed or has information about the crash to contact the Vehicular Crime Unit at 631-852-6555 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
