“When it comes to successfully treating patients for any type of cancer, early detection is essential,” Legislator Lafazan said.
Nassau County Legislator Joshua Lafazan (Woodbury) partnered with Greenberg Cosmetic Surgery & Dermatology and Dr. Eve Lupenko, M.D., F.A.A.D. to provide free skin cancer screenings to LD 18 residents.
In addition to performing skin examinations for 40 registered patients, Dr. Lupenko and her team provided free sunscreen and counseled residents on the importance of year-round, all-season sun protection and the need for regular full skin examinations.
“When it comes to successfully treating patients for any type of cancer, early detection is essential,” Legislator Lafazan said. “That is why I am so thankful to Dr. Lupenko for her continued partnership, which enables us to deliver important, free health screenings to residents and empowers our constituents to continue to protect their overall health.”
“Early identification of cancers and precancers is always ideal so we can treat them early or even prevent them from becoming cancerous,” Dr. Lupenko said. “Much thanks to Legislator Lafazan for sponsoring this screening because it offered access to dermatological care to people who might not otherwise have the opportunity to receive these services.”
