Recently, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker joined boy scouts, troop leaders and scout families and friends to honor Troop 433’s newest Eagle Scout Samuel Schor. The ceremony was held outdoors at the Middle Island Fire Department Outdoor Pavilion in Middle Island.

“It is wonderful to see the bright young leaders that have come from Troop 433,” said Legislator Anker. “Samuel has proven through not only his Eagle Scout project, but his continued leadership with Troop 433 that his is deserving of the honor of being an Eagle Scout. It is my honor to congratulate him on his accomplishments and wish him luck with his future endeavors.”

Eagle Scout is the highest rank that a scout can receive. It requires hard work and dedication for a scout to earn 21 merit badges, complete a community service project and undergo a lengthy review process. Samuel Schor received the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout after completing his community service project. Samuel designed and facilitated a revitalization project in Lake Ronkonkoma on a Suffolk County Parks Department property. Samuel led a group of volunteers to construct a walkway from a bridge to the water, which created a lakeside park for the public to enjoy.
