Officials: Syosset Man Arrested After Forcibly Entering NCPD Precinct, Becoming Combative With Officers
Woodbury, NY - June 20, 2018 - The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Syosset man at 7:55pm on Tuesday June 19, 2018 in Woodbury.
According to Detectives, defendant Marc Linden, 19, did attempt to forcibly enter the Nassau County Police Department’s Second Precinct located at 7700 Jericho Turnpike. As an Officer approached the defendant to speak with him, defendant Linden attempted to physically push past the Officer to gain entry and began to yell statements causing public alarm to civilians inside the building. When Officers attempted to place the defendant under arrest he became combative and resisted Officers lawful orders. A Detective sustained substantial pain to his right shoulder and neck as a result.
As Detectives were escorting the defendant through the building, he became aggressive and attempted to break free and lunge down a staircase. In an action to prevent the defendant from falling down the stairs a second Detective sustained injuries to his back and neck.
Defendant Marc Linden is charged with two counts of Assault 2nd Degree, Making a Terroristic Threat, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Trespass and Disorderly Conduct. He will be arraigned on Wednesday June 20, 2018 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
