Officials: Central Islip Woman Calls Police, Confesses to Murdering Her Mother

Suffolk County Police arrested a woman after she murdered her mother at their home in Central Islip.
 
Sharon Easter called 911 and told an operator she killed her mother. Third Precinct Patrol officers responded to 66 Cocoanut Street and found Dorothy Easter, 76, deceased from strangulation wounds.
 
Homicide Squad detectives charged Sharon, 57, with Murder 2nd Degree. She will be held overnight at the Fourth Precinct, and was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
