Authorities Report Woman Killed, Daughter Injured in Patchogue House Fire

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad and Arson Section detectives are investigating a fatal fire that killed a resident at a Patchogue home.  
 
Fifth Precinct officers responded to a residence on Ohls Street after a 911 caller reported a fire at the location. Elisa Doughty, 65, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. Kristle Doughty, 34, Elisa’s daughter, also a resident of the home, was transported by North Patchogue Fire Department Ambulance to Stony Brook Hospital with burns to her arm.
 
North Patchogue, Hagerman, Blue Point, Patchogue and Medford Fire Departments responded to extinguish the fire.
 
Following a preliminary investigation, detectives believe the fire to be non-criminal in nature.
