Man Wanted for Robbing Taxi Driver in Farmingdale

Farmingdale, NY - June 16th, 2014 - The Second Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at 9:25 am in Farmingdale.

According to detectives, a 38 year old male taxi driver had just dropped off a fare on Main Street and Grant Avenue, when a male Hispanic, thin build, 5’6” tall , wearing baggy pants entered the cab.  The subject displayed a black and silver handgun and demanded that the victim drive away.   After driving around for five to ten minutes, the subject demanded cash.  The victim complied and the subject exited the vehicle walking northbound on North Maple Street and Simonson Place.  There were no reported injuries. Proceeds were an undetermined amount of US currency.
