Teens Arrested for Grand Larceny in Cedarhurst

Cedarhurst, NY - June 14, 2014 - Fourth Squad detectives report the details of two arrests for grand larceny that occurred in Cedarhurst on Friday, 06/13/14 at 2:16 P.M.
 
According to detectives, Andre Palmer, 17, of 14 Roger Ave., Inwood, and Raytawon Wright, 17, of 307 Madison Ave., Cedarhurst, entered a vehicle parked on Oceanpoint Ave., removed a wallet and rode off on their bicycles, after noticing the victim was watching them.  The victim called 911 and a radio broadcast notification was made.  A Fourth Precinct police officer observed the defendants on Park Ave./Linwood Ave. and stopped the defendants. Defendant Wright was stopped and Defendant Palmer rode his bicycle around the police vehicle and continued west on Park Ave.  Defendant Palmer was ordered to stop multiple times, but failed to do so.  The officer put out a radio notification to alert units in the area. Palmer was located on Pearsall Ave.  Recovered from the defendants were the victim’s wallet, NYS driver license and cash. 
 
Palmer and Wright are each being charged with Grand Larceny 4th Degree and will be arraigned on Saturday, 06/14/14 in First District Court, Hempstead.
