SCPD Reports 74-Year-Old Dix Hills Man Found Murdered in His Home

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the murder of a Dix Hills man who was found dead in his residence.
 
Armindo Reis lived alone in the residence located on Penn Drive. When neighbors could not get in contact with him yesterday, they called his son. When Reis’s son arrived at the residence at approximately 6:15 p.m., he found his father unconscious and called 911. When Second Precinct officers arrived at the scene, they found Reis had sustained a gunshot wound.
 
Reis, 74, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
