Suffolk Police Arrest Lyft Driver for Driving with 17 License Suspensions

Suffolk County Police arrested a Lyft driver for driving with 17 license suspensions.
 
Leith Crossen was in a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta on Westbury Road near Cold Spring Harbor train station when a Second Precinct officer, responding to a 911 call of a possible intoxicated driver, discovered him stopped in his car at approximately 9:35 p.m. Crossen, who was not intoxicated, had just dropped off a passenger and had run out of gas. A check of Crossen’s driver’s license revealed it had been suspended 17 times.
 
Crossen, 57, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree, a felony.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
