Written by Cait Russell  |  10. June 2013

Earlier today, the National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Watch for Long Island, as well as much of the tri-state area. This afternoon is expected to bring heavy rains, which has prompted the Hazardous Weather Outlook earlier today. Long Island is expected to receive up to 2 inches of rain between today and Tuesday - a serious amount of rainfall, only days after Tropical Storm Andrea drenched LI.

According to a statement from the National Weather Service, those living in flood-prone areas should take precaution, and be aware of developing weather conditions, and be prepared to take action, should serious flooding develop.
