Uniondale Apartment Building Evacuated During Fire

Uniondale, NY - June 6, 2014  - Arson/Bomb Squad detectives report the details of a Fire that occurred on June 6, 2014 at 7:54 p.m. in Uniondale.
 
According to detectives, First Precinct Officers responded to a Fire at the Town of Hempstead Apartment complex located at 750 Jerusalem Avenue in a third floor apartment. The building was evacuated and the Uniondale Fire Department assisted by East Meadow, North Merrick, South Hempstead and Bellmore Fire Departments were able to extinguish the fire. Twenty Fire apparatus along with 100 fire personnel were on scene.
 
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, but there appears to be no criminality. No injuries were reported. The Red Cross responded to assist the eighteen residents that have been displaced.
