Police: Elmont Man Under Arrest After Threatening Girlfriend with Firearm

Searingtown, NY - June 6, 2017 - The Third Squad reports the arrest of an Elmont man on Tuesday, June 06, 2017 at 1:40am in Searingtown.
 
According to Detectives, during an argument with his girlfriend, defendant William Santos, Jr., 34, of Elmont did point a loaded black and silver handgun at her face. The victim, 29, in fear of her safety was able to pull away from the defendant, left the scene and contacted police.  
 
Detectives located the defendant at his residence and placed him under arrest at 1:40am. Further investigation led to the recovery of the Smith & Wesson handgun. 
 
Defendant William Santos is charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, one count each of Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Menacing and Criminal Mischief. He will be arraigned on Monday, June 6, 2017 in First District Court 99 main Street Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
