William Floyd High School Photography Students Sweep Assemblyman Murray Photo Contest

Mastic Beach, NY - June 6, 2016 - For the second year in a row, William Floyd High School students swept the top three spots in New York State Assemblyman Dean Murray’s student photography contest, which requested pictures of places, events and activities that showcased students’ schools and hometowns.

Entries were judged by a panel looking at content, photographic competence and other artistic factors. The award-winning student photography was displayed at Brookhaven Town Hall during a congratulatory reception hosted by Assemblyman Murray. William Floyd students also received three honorable mention awards.

The top three students were Kasey Hammel, 11th grade, first place; Tiffany Negron, 10th
grade, second place; and Sara Mason, 11th grade, third place. Receiving honorable mentions Michelle Descalzo, 11th grade; Kristen O’Shea, 12th grade; and Shayla Scott, 11th grade.
