Suffolk County Police to Honor D-Day Veterans During 70th Anniversary Event

Yaphank, NY - June 4, 2014 - The Suffolk County Police Department, in partnership with the Suffolk County Police Veterans Association and the Suffolk County Veterans Service Agency, will mark the 70th anniversary of the allied invasion of Normandy (D-Day) during World War II with a ceremony at Police Headquarters on June 6 at noon.
 
Six D-Day veterans who live in Suffolk County will be attending the event as Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone and Suffolk County Police Department personnel honor the veterans, both living and deceased, of one of the most significant days in United States military history.

When: Friday, June 6 Arrival 11:30 a.m. Ceremony to start promptly at 12 p.m.
