Nassau County Crime Alert: Two Suspects Wanted for Robbing Hempstead Jewelry Store

Hempstead, NY - June 4th, 2014 - Robbery Squad detectives are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred in Hempstead on Tuesday, June 03, 2014 at 3:50 P.M.

According to detectives, two subjects armed with a hand gun, entered Gold Town Jewelers located at 73 Main St., approached employees and demanded jewelry and cash.  The victims refused to comply and the subjects fled the store on foot southbound on Main St., without proceeds.  There were three employees and no customers present in the store at the time of the robbery.

No injuries were reported.

The subjects are described as male blacks in their 20’s.  Subject #1 is thin in build, wearing a black baseball cap, black tee shirt, jeans and armed with a gray handgun.  Subject #2 is 5’5” tall, wearing a gray and red shirt.  No further description is available.
