Cops: Man Allegedly Assaults, Stabs Victim After Hempstead Bar Atercation

Third Squad detectives report the arrest of a Wyandanch man for Assault that occurred in Hempstead.
 
According to detectives, the male victim, 20, had a physical altercation with Wils Lamonge inside of Ole Bar located at 774 Fulton Avenue. Wils, who was known to the victim, was escorted out of the bar. A short time later, the victim left the bar, walked eastbound on Fulton Avenue and was approached by Wils in the vicinity of Ducan Road. He pushed the victim to the ground and began to punch him.  Wils took a small folding knife and stabbed the victim in the right upper side. The victim suffered a punctured lung and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The subject fled the scene.
 
After a thorough investigation, Wils Lamonge, 21, was arrested without incident.
 
Defendant Wils is charged with Assault First Degree and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon 4th Degree. He was arraigned at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
