SCPD: Selden Woman Arrested for DWI under Leandra’s Law after Motor Vehicle Crash

Farmingville, NY - June 1, 2018 - Suffolk County Police arrested a woman in Farmingville for driving while intoxicated with her seven-year-old son in the vehicle on Thursday, May 31, 2018.
 
Davina Williams was driving a 1999 Lexus on Adirondack Drive near the intersection of Oneida Avenue when she crashed the vehicle into a parked car at approximately 10:19 p.m. Williams, 35, of Selden, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger 15 Years or Younger (Leandra’s Law) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
 
There were no injuries. The child was released into the custody of his grandparents.
 
Williams is being held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip on June 1.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
