SCPD: Fight in North Amityville Leaves One Dead, Three Injured

Update - May 30, 2015 - Louis Wilson, 44, of Kansas City, Missouri, has been identified as the person who was shot to death during a fight in North Amityville early this morning.

North Amityville, NY - May 30, 2015 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating an incident during which one person was killed and three others were injured after a fight in North Amityville early this morning.

First Precinct police officers responded to 66 Coolidge Ave. at approximately 2 a.m. after receiving 911 calls and a Shot Spotter notification regarding multiple shots fired during a fight outside that location. Three men were transported to area hospitals for gunshot wounds and one man was transported to an area hospital for injuries he sustained during the fight. One of the gunshot victims was pronounced dead at the hospital and the three others sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
