SCPD: Man Busted with Drugs, Cash and Illegal Large Capacity Gun Magazines During Execution of Search Warrant

SCPD have arrested Yasir Carnegie of Brentwood, 35, and seized drugs, cash and illegal gun magazines.

Brentwood, NY - May 31, 2018 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a man and seized drugs, cash and illegal gun magazines following the execution of two search warrants at a residence in Brentwood and a storage facility in Bay Shore on Wednesday, May 30, 2018.
 
Following an investigation regarding drug activity, members of the Narcotics Section Firearm Suppression Team, Canine Section and the Emergency Service Section, executed two search warrants at a Merrill Street resience in Brentwood, and at Mr. D’s Storage located at 99 Pine Aire Dr., Bay Shore on May 30. Police seized approximately 80 grams of crack/cocaine, 35 grams of heroin, MDMA and Suboxone. Additionally, 47 illegal large capacity 30 round AR15 and AK 47 rifles magazines were seized along with .223 rounds, AR15 parts, $18,664.00 cash and a money counting machine. 
 
"The Suffolk County Police Department will continue to utilize its resources to the fullest in order to remove drugs and illegal weapons from our communities," said Suffolk County Police Commissioner Geraldine Hart. "Thanks to the diligence and commitment of our officers, the streets of Suffolk County are safer."
 
Yasir Carnegie, 35, a resident of the Merrill Street home, was charged with five counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree.
 
Carnegie is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip today.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
