Fort Salonga, NY - May 31, 2016 - Cause Café recently held its Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at its new site at 1014 Fort Salonga Road in Fort Salonga, in the space that had been Cook’s Scratch Kitchen and Bakery. However, it is serving a new item in the Cafe as it also provides job opportunities for individuals with special needs.
According to owner Stacy Wohl, the mother of two teenagers with autism, the Cafe offers a nurturing environment in which they can develop real life skills. Ms. Wohl opened the Café because she knew of the lack of job opportunities for them. Her children, as well as others with special needs work at Cause Café helping in the kitchen, waiting on customers, working the cash register and interacting with the patrons.
The chef is the former cook at Cook’s Scratch and Cause Café will serve breakfast, lunch, coffee, pastries, and smoothies. It is open from 8am to 4pm Tuesday through Sunday.
“Welcome to Fort Salonga and I wish you and your employees all the best and thank you for being an integral part of this community,” said Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta, who represents the district.
Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta presented Cause Café owner Stacy Wohl with a proclamation congratulating and wishing her success with her new business venture.
