Officials Report Motorcyclist Killed in Central Islip Motor Vehicle Crash

Central Islip, NY - May 30, 2017 - Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Central Islip on Monday, May 29, 2017 at approximately 9:40 p.m.
 
Mirtha Doria was driving a 2014 Honda CRV when her vehicle was struck by a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle as she attempted to make a right turn from Bella Casa Lane onto Suffolk Avenue.
 
The motorcyclist, Marc Rivera, 20, of Central Islip, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead. Doria, 51, of East Islip, was also transported to Southside Hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. 
 
The vehicles were impounded for a safety check. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
