Nassau County, NY - May 30, 2017 - The Nassau County SPCA is pleased to announce that Maria Mora has been named as their first Executive Director. With her career in animal rescue, nonprofit volunteer leadership, operations management and program development, Maria is sure to provide the Nassau County SPCA with remarkable leadership and business development expertise. "Maria Mora has joined us to further develop our organization and programs to serve some of the neglected and needy animals of Nassau County. There are greater things to come from the Nassau County SPCA and Maria is the right person to develop and execute on them", says Gary Rogers, Board President of the Nassau County SPCA.

In her role as Executive Director, Maria is confident she will develop innovative programs that will enhance the agency's relationship with the community and raise the much-needed funds that allow the Nassau County SPCA to continue to carry out its mission of protecting all animals from abuse. "My success is fueled by my passion for animals. I am excited to join such an amazing team, and eager to make a difference," said Mora.

Prior to joining the Nassau County SPCA, Maria dedicated over 8 years in the animal not-for-profit field. Ms. Mora gained a reputable name in animal rescue. As a Volunteer and Outreach Director she implemented exemplar and substantial programs. Ms. Mora developed a Low Cost Mobile Clinic program providing affordable services to the community in an effort to control the population of unwanted and homeless animals through spay and neuter. Also, as a Foster Director she designed programs aimed at saving the lives of animals with lower chances of being adopted.

We welcome Maria's vast experience, passion and dedication. It will be instrumental in continuing our mission and furthering the development of the Nassau County SPCA.
