Port Jefferson Station, NY, May 2013 – Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker held a blood drive in cooperation with Legislator Kara Hahn and the North Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, May  21. The drive took place at the chamber’s train car at the corner of Route 112 and 347 and was organized through Long Island Blood Services.

“Thank you to all those who came out to donate,” said Legislator Anker. “The blood supply on Long Island is in need of support. Donations are critical in helping accident victims, transplant patients and often cancer patients.”

As a division of New York Blood Center, Long Island Blood Services acts as direct link to Nassau, Suffolk, and Queens Hospitals for more than 40 years.

If you are interested in donating or finding a donation center near you, please call 1-800-933-BLOOD.
