Ridge Man Allegedly Forced Woman, Three Children into His Vehicle, Cops Say

The Third Squad reports the Arrest of a Ridge man for Unlawful Imprisonment that occurred in Roslyn Heights.
 
According to detectives, patrol officers received a radio assignment for a suspicious occurrence at the Mobil Gas Station located at 449 Glen Cove Rd. Upon arrival, officers were informed by a witness they saw a woman in the front passenger seat of a black 2005 Ford Taurus holding a sign that read “Please call 911, CALL 911.”
 
Investigation revealed that defendant William Jamal Wilkinson, 36, of Ridge, NY, had forced her and her three male children, ages 13, 3 and 3 into his vehicle and refused to let them out. Defendant Wilkinson was placed under arrest without incident.
 
William Jamal Wilkinson is charged with four (4) counts of Unlawful Imprisonment 1st degree, two (2) counts of Endangering the Welfare of Incompetent Physically Disabled Person 1st degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Criminal Possession of Marijuana. He was arraigned at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
