Officials: Man Wanted for Using Phony Cash to Buy Ice Cream in Northport

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Second Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who used counterfeit currency at an East Northport business in May.
 
A man used counterfeit currency at Carvel, located at 1918 Jericho Turnpike, on May 14 at approximately 9:10 p.m. The man is described as black, thin, in his late teens or early 20’s, with facial hair.
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about these incidents can contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers to submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, texting “SCPD” and your message to “CRIMES” (274637) or by email at www.tipsubmit.com.
