Hempstead Man Arrested for Roosevelt Arson, Violating Protection Order

Roosevelt, NY - May 29th, 2015 - First Squad detectives report the arrest of a Hempstead man for arson that occurred in Roosevelt on Thursday, 05/28/15 at 11:14 A.M.

According to detectives, Tyrone Kinard, 27, of Clinton St., set a plastic bag containing clothing on fire on the front stoop of a residence on Gormley Ave. The fire then extended to the building causing damage to the front door, siding and soffit. 

The defendant had been involved in a verbal argument with the female victim, 25, who resides there, and took her debit card in addition to violating a Family Court Order of Protection.

No injuries were reported.

Kinard is being charged with Arson 4th Degree, Grand Larceny 4th Degree, Criminal Contempt 1st Degree and Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree.  He will be arraigned on Friday, 05/29/15 in First District Court, Hempstead.
