Suffolk County Police Officers Rescue Shirley Man from House Fire

Suffolk County Police officers recently rescued a man from a house fire in Shirley.
 
Seventh Precinct officers responded to a 911 call reporting smoke coming from the second floor of a residence located at 246 Floyd Road just before 8 p.m.
 
Officers Kyle Negrin and Harrison Dow arrived on scene and were alerted a man was possibly still inside the home and the roof and second floor were on fire. The officers entered the residence through a rear entrance and found a 51-year-old on the second floor and escorted him out of the house.
 
The man was evaluated on scene and was not injured. Officer Negrin was taken via ambulance to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead for treatment of smoke inhalation.
 
The cause of the fire is being investigated by Suffolk County Police Arson Section detectives.
