The United States Patent and Trademark Office will be hosting a free, one-day program for inventors, makers, and entrepreneurs in Farmingdale at Farmingdale University this June 1. The event is scheduled to run from 9 a.m.—4:45 p.m. in the FSC Campus Center Ballroom, the event—presented in conjunction with the Farmingdale State Small Business Development Center – is slated to feature contributions from a host of USPTO representatives, along with a number of regional innovation experts.

 

Guests will have the chance to learn from successful inventors and entrepreneurs, and intellectual property experts who will offer practical advice and information for both novice and seasoned inventors and entrepreneurs. Long Island Inventors and Entrepreneurs Club founder Brian Fried, a frequent USPTO collaborator, said the Inventors Day event is designed to provide “bigger opportunities and access to resources for the inventor and entrepreneur community.”

 

The event will offer attendees the opportunity to learn specifically about the value of patents and trademarks, federal and local resources available to help entrepreneurs start or grow a business, strategies to leverage IP assets, and networking opportunities with experts in the IP and the small business growth and development fields. 

 

These experts will be from both government and the private sector and will help attendees gain insight into the patent process as well as a chance to meet with the Long Island Inventors group and stay connected in the community.
