NCPD Investigating Case of Dissected Chickens Found at Massapequa Preserve

Massapequa, NY - May 23, 2015 - Seventh Squad detectives are investigating an Unusual Incident that was discovered on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 4:30 pm in Massapequa.

According to detectives, Seventh Precinct officers responded to a remote area of the Massapequa Preserve after a passerby reported finding an injured chicken and several deceased chickens that appeared to have been cut open, dissected and had their entrails pulled out. Also discovered was a ritual type setting involving candles and a yellow bandana that was nailed to a tree above.

The injured chicken was removed from the scene by the Town of Oyster Bay Animal Control.
