Suffolk SPCA have charged Hakim El-Quhir of Wyandanch, 61, with animal cruelty

Wyandanch, NY - May 22, 2018 - On Monday, May 21, 2018 a Wyandanch man was charged with animal cruelty by Suffolk County SPCA detectives.
 
Hakim El-Quhir, 61, of Wyandanch was charged with one (1) count of failure to provide proper sustenance including veterinary care. We were contacted by the Babylon Animal Shelter who had been contacted by a Veterinary Clinic, that a dog was crawling with maggots, fly larva, covered with feces and urine and was so severely matted that she was unable to walk or stand.

Fluffy, an 8 year-old female cockapoo, was signed over to the Babylon Animal Shelter.
 
El-Quihir is scheduled to appear in First District Court in Central Islip on July 23, 2018.
