Brentwood, NY - May 20, 2015 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a Brentwood man for drug possession charges and owning and training roosters for the purpose of fighting following the execution of a search warrant at his home.

Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives, Narcotics Section detectives, Emergency Service Section officers, Third Precinct Patrol and Crime Section officers and officers from the Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals executed a search warrant as part of a narcotics investigation at 107 4^th St. at approximately 6 a.m. today.

During the search, cocaine and marijuana were discovered as well as 45 roosters that showed evidence of being trained for fighting.

Reynaldo Bonilla, 37, was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3^rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substances 4^th Degree, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Bonilla was also charged with Training an Animal to Fight, a felony under New York State Agricultural and Markets Law.

The roosters were removed from the property by SPCA officers.

Bonilla will be held overnight at the Third Precinct and arraigned tomorrow at First District Court in Central Islip.
