Silver Alert Issued for Medford Man Who Suffers Schizophrenia

Medford, NY - May 19, 2016 - The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing man from Medford.

Joshua Allen, 20, of Medford, was last seen at a bus stop near the South Shore Mall, located at 1701 Sunrise Highway, Bay Shore, at approximately 7:30 a.m. on May 18.

Allen, who suffers from schizophrenia, is described as a black male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, approximately 185 pounds. He has a dark complexion, brown eyes and  black hair / dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, gray-colored camouflage shorts and tan-colored sneakers.

Anyone with information on Allen’s whereabouts is asked to call the Suffolk County Police Communications Duty Officer at 631-852-6410 or call 911. 

As a reminder, Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
