Amityville, NY - May 18, 2015 - Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory and the Suffolk County Police Department are teaming up to present a Prescription Drug Take-Back Event on June 6th.

WHAT: Prescription Drug Take-Back Event

WHEN: Saturday, June 6, 2015 3:00 PM-5:00 PM

WHERE: Tanner Park, Copiague

WHY: For many years flushing was identified as the correct way to safely dispose of unused and expired pharmaceutical drugs, but recently pharmaceutical drugs have been identified as an emerging contaminant in our drinking and surface waters. Additionally, unused medications in the home create a public health and safety concern, as they may end up in the wrong hands.

Please bring unused, unwanted or expired medications.
