East Hills, NY - May 19th, 2014 - The Third Squad is investigating a serious vehicular accident that occurred on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at 4:20 p.m. in East Hills.

According to detectives, a 34 year old male from Forrest Hills was driving a 2008 BMW westbound on Old Westbury Road when he struck a bicyclist also traveling westbound, ejecting the male victim 51 years of age. The vehicle then struck a telephone pole causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times. The bicyclist was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. The driver refused medical aide at the scene. The vehicle was impounded for brake and safety check and the investigation is ongoing.
