Crime Report: Girl Shot and Killed on Bus; Four Businesses Charged with Selling Alcohol to Minors

Girl Shot and Killed on Bus
Police say that 14-year-old Daja Robinson was shot and killed by an unknown assailant while riding the Q6 bus in Queens. According to the New York Daily News, the gunman fired 10 shots at the bus near Sutphin Boulevard and Rockaway Ave.

The incident took place around 8:45 p.m. on Saturday. The bus was hit several times, and one bullet came through a window and hit Robinson in the head. She was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The gunman remains at large, and police have not identified any suspects.

Robinson was a student at Andrew Jackson High School. Officials do not know if she was the intended target, however some witnesses said that she was being followed by a group of teens before she got on the bus.

Four Businesses Charged with Selling Alcohol to Minors
Employees of four different businesses on Long Island have been charged with selling alcohol to minors, according to the New York Post. Police caught the businesses after setting up a sting.

Suffolk County police sent a volunteer into the four businesses on Friday night. All four businesses sold alcohol to the volunteer, who was under 21.

The names of the businesses were not stated, however they include a convenience store and tavern in Huntington Station and two delis in Greenlawn. The employees were ticketed and are scheduled to appear at the First District Court in Central Islip in July.
