Police Seeking Three Suspects in Roosevelt Attempted Street Mugging, Assault

A male victim was approached by 3 male Hispanics who began punching the victim in the head while they attempted to remove his wrist watch, NCPS says.

Roosevelt, NY - May 18, 2018 - First Squad detectives are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 12:05 am in Roosevelt.
 
According to detectives, while on the corner of E. Clinton Avenue and Nassau Road, a 38 year old male victim was approached by 3 male Hispanics one of whom asked him for a light. The same male then produced a small pocket knife and another then began punching the victim in the head while they attempted to remove the victim’s wrist watch. After unsuccessfully obtaining the watch, the victim was able to break free and run from the subjects.
 
A short time later the victim called police and was transported to an area hospital for treatment of abrasions and a laceration to his head and face.
 
The victim could only describe the one subject as having a distinctive scorpion or lobster tattoo on the left side of his face.
