SCPD: Employee at Shirley Business Arrested for Selling Alcohol to a Minor

Suffolk County Police arrested a man for selling alcohol to a minor at a business in Shirley.
 
In response to community complaints, Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers conducted an investigation into the sale of alcohol to minors during which nine businesses were checked for compliance with the law. During the investigation, while working at Mastic Deli & Market, located at 234 William Floyd Parkway, Gurpreet Singh sold alcohol to a minor who was working with police. 
 
Singh, 35, of Shirley, was charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Minor 1st Degree. He was issued a Field Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on July 11.
 
The following establishments were also checked and found to be in compliance with the law:
 
  • Ocean Gas, located at 980 Montauk Highway, Shirley
  • Valero Gas, located at 1651 Montauk Highway, Mastic
  • Hispano American food market and deli, located at 1088 Mastic Road, Mastic
  • Track Gas Station, located at 310 Mastic Beach Road, Mastic Beach
  • Oakwood Superette Inc., located at 525 Neighborhood Road, Shirley
  • Star Deli, located at 161 Commack Road, Mastic Beach
  • Gotham Smokes Inc., located at 1271 Middle Country Road, Middle Island
  • Seven Star Deli, located at 431 William Floyd Parkway, Shirley
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
