NCPD: Elderly Man Arrested After Threatening Use of Gun at Oceanside Kindergarten

Oceanside, NY - May 15, 2018 - The Fourth Precinct reports the arrest of a Rockville Centre man that occurred on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 5:06 pm in Oceanside.
 
According to patrol officers, an unknown male arrived at Oceanside School #6 / Kindergarten Center located at 25 Castleton Court. The subject told a district employee he was there to pick up his grandson. The subject was advised he needed to produce identification for security and safety reasons. He then stated he was returning to his car get his I.D. and gun. 
 
The subject returned to the front door and continuously pressed the school’s doorbell and covered the security camera with his hand. School staff became fearful and called police.
 
A subsequent investigation was conducted and Kenneth Geller, 72, was arrested without incident.
 
Defendant Geller is charged with Falsely Reporting Incident 3rd Degree. He was issued an Appearance Ticket for Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
