NCPD Arrests Man Who Forcibly Pulled Ring Off 72-Year Old Woman in Greenvale

Greenvale, NY - May 14, 2015 - The Third Squad reports the details of an arrest for Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 6:30 pm in Greenvale.                                           

According to detectives, a 72 year old female victim was putting packages into her vehicle at 90 Northern Boulevard when a male subject grabbed her from behind, put a knife to her throat and pushed her halfway into the vehicle.  The subject then forcibly removed the victims’ ring.  The subject then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

After an investigation through DNA left at the scene, detectives were able to arrest Benis Solis, 24, of 450 East 184th Street, Bronx at his home on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 without incident. 

Defendant Solis is being charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree.  He will be arraigned on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at First District Court, Hempstead.
