Update: Missing15-Year-Old North Amityville Girl Found

Update - May 19, 2014 - Izabella Alvarenga has been located, unharmed.

North Amityville - May 13, 2014 - The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert regarding a missing 15-year-old female who may be suffering from depression and has been known to cut herself.
 
Izabella Alvarenga, of 43 East Smith Street, North Amityville, left her residence at 6 p.m. on May 9th.   Her family fears she may hurt herself and would like to locate her.
 
Alvarenga is described as a white Hispanic female with long brown hair and brown eyes.  She is 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 140 pounds.  She was last seen wearing a black jacket with black shorts and blue slip-on shoes. 
 
Detectives are asking anyone with information on her whereabouts to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.

As a reminder, the Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have gone missing.
