Suffolk County Police Seeking Hit-And-Run Driver Responsible for Death of Setauket Man

Setauket, NY - May 12, 2017 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian in Setauket in 2013. 
 
Joseph Santiago (pictured above), of Setauket, was struck by a vehicle that was traveling westbound on Ridgeway Avenue on August 23, 2013 at approximately 1:20 a.m. Santiago was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. 
 
The vehicle involved in the fatal hit-and-run crash, is a white 1999 to 2006 Hyundai sedan. The vehicle possibly sustained front-end damage on the passenger side and/or undercarriage damage.
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
