Police Seeking Suspect in Fatal East Patchogue Hit-and-Run Incident

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the driver who fled the scene of a fatal crash in East Patchogue.
 
Alexis Velasquez, 30, of Bellport, was riding his bicycle eastbound on Montauk Highway, approximately 1000 feet west of Gazzola Drive, at approximately 4:30 a.m. on April 28 when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
 
Detectives believe the vehicle that struck Velasquez is a silver 2013 to 2015 Nissan Rogue, similar to the photo above, and sustained damage to the front passenger side. The vehicle fled eastbound on Montauk Highway.
