North Amityville Woman Killed in North Lindenhurst Hit & Run Crash

North Lindenhurst, NY - May 8th, 2015 - Suffolk County Police Vehicular Crime Unit detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a 22-year-old pedestrian in North Lindenhurst early this morning.
 
Christina Ramdas was in the westbound lane of Route 109, east of Wellwood Ave., when she was struck by a westbound vehicle at approximately 3:30 a.m. The vehicle fled the scene. Ramdas, of Oak Street, North Amityville, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
 
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash or has any information about the incident to contact the Vehicular Crime Unit at 631-852-6555 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
