Oceanside Man Arrested for Reckless Endangerment

Oceanside, NY - May 8th, 2014 - The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of an Oceanside woman for Reckless Endangerment that occurred on Tuesday May 6, 2014 at 5:10 p.m. in Oceanside.

According to detectives, the defendant Jocelyn Carlson, 23 of 56 New Street was the front seat passenger in a 2009 Hyundai Elantra being driven by a 34 year old male eastbound on Atlantic Avenue. Carlson unexpectedly grabbed the steering wheel and yanked it to the right which caused the vehicle to veer off the roadway. The vehicle struck a fence in front of Dee’s Nursery located at 69 Atlantic Avenue and overturned in the parking lot of the nursery. Carlson along with the driver and an additional rear seat male passenger were all treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.

Carlson is charged with two counts of Reckless Endangerment 1st degree. She was arraigned on Wednesday, May 07, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
