AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an air quality health advisory for the following counties... Suffolk...Nassau...Richmond...Kings...Queens...New York...Bronx...Wes chester...Rockland. from 11 AM this morning to 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone . The Air Quality Index...or AQI...was created as an easy way to correlate levels of different pollutants to one scale. The higher the AQI value...the greater the health concern. When pollution levels are elevated...the New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young...and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. Two Nassau Women Arrested for Idenity Theft, Grand Larceny

Hempstead, NY - May 6th, 2014 - The Crimes Against Property Squad reports the details of two arrests for Identity Theft and Grand Larceny that occurred on January 2, 2013.

According to Detectives, defendants Cynthia Sibert, 24, of 108 Grove Street, Hempstead and Lori Furlow, 50, of 200 Pinelawn Avenue, Copiague obtained the identification of a 34 year old female victim from Wantagh. The defendants opened two credit cards and purchased two automobiles (a 2012 Nissan Quest and a 2012 Nissan Versa) in the victims’ name.  After an investigation, on July 25, 2013, detectives arrested Cynthia Sibert at her home.  Lori Furlow was located and placed under arrest on May 6, 2014 at the Suffolk County Jail where she was serving a sentence for an unrelated charge.  The Nissan Quest was recovered at the home of defendant Sibert.

Sibert was charged with Grand Larceny 2nd Degree and 3 counts of Identity Theft 1st Degree.  She was arraigned on July 26, 2013.  Furlow was charged with Grand Larceny 2nd Degree and 2 counts of Identity Theft 1st Degree and was arraigned on May 6, 2014 at First District Court, Hempstead.
