Hempstead, NY - May 6th, 2014 - The Crimes Against Property Squad reports the details of two arrests for Identity Theft and Grand Larceny that occurred on January 2, 2013.

According to Detectives, defendants Cynthia Sibert, 24, of 108 Grove Street, Hempstead and Lori Furlow, 50, of 200 Pinelawn Avenue, Copiague obtained the identification of a 34 year old female victim from Wantagh. The defendants opened two credit cards and purchased two automobiles (a 2012 Nissan Quest and a 2012 Nissan Versa) in the victims’ name.  After an investigation, on July 25, 2013, detectives arrested Cynthia Sibert at her home.  Lori Furlow was located and placed under arrest on May 6, 2014 at the Suffolk County Jail where she was serving a sentence for an unrelated charge.  The Nissan Quest was recovered at the home of defendant Sibert.

Sibert was charged with Grand Larceny 2nd Degree and 3 counts of Identity Theft 1st Degree.  She was arraigned on July 26, 2013.  Furlow was charged with Grand Larceny 2nd Degree and 2 counts of Identity Theft 1st Degree and was arraigned on May 6, 2014 at First District Court, Hempstead.
